For three years now, there has been a positive trend in the proportion of students who choose to apply to the natural gymnasium. When the application deadline for the autumn semester 2020 has expired, almost all purely natural gymnasiums in our area see that development is continuing.

Strömma Naturbrukscentrum outside Sätila has 25 percent more applicants than 2019.

- We have gone like clouds here after seeing the figures, says Marie Poldahl, Vice-Chancellor.

Planning to expand

Strömma Naturbrukscentrum started up in private direction after the closure of the Västra Götaland region in the fall of 2015. The region's six natural gymnasiums were expensive to operate and attracted few students. Three remained in their own hands, and the other three started up privately. Now at Strömma you are soon back to its maximum capacity with 180 students, and you are planning for expansion.

The only school that does not see a clearly positive development is Nuntorp, which is run in a branch of the Dinglegymnasiet, but there you see an explanation that the school was only open for one academic year.
