Roger Gemoules from the US state of Illinois is apparently a particularly helpful policeman. At least if you believe CNN and other US media.
According Gemoules stopped in the community Cahokia a car because of a presumed expired license plate. When he then wanted to check the driver's license of 22-year-old driver Ka'Shawn Baldwin, it was actually expired. The logical consequence: fine and end of travel - actually.
But Gemoules apparently saw it differently: Because Baldwin had to go to a job interview, he had him leave the car in another location and brought him in his patrol car for the interview. "He was very respectful when I stopped him and I realized that he absolutely needed to have this conversation," Gemoules told CNN.
According to the report, Baldwin actually made it through the policeman's help to the job interview - and got the job. "I was a few minutes late, but I did it," said Baldwin, "and I have the job." According to CNN, Baldwin apparently was spared a fine.
Gemoules got plenty of praise for his helpfulness. An employee of Cahokia's mayor posted a picture of the policeman and wrote, "A good example of how policing should be in the community's favor." The post was shared more than 10,000 times.
