The High Committee for Humanitarian Fraternity held its second global meeting at the Public Library in downtown New York, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, a number of senior UAE officials, representatives of various institutions and partners.

During the meeting, which was held yesterday, in conjunction with the start of the high-level segment of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, members of the High Committee reviewed their mission to promote the dissemination of a culture of mutual respect and dialogue among the followers of different religions, sects and nationalities, which is a breakthrough. It is an ambitious step through joint efforts to explore ways in which goodwill people of all faiths and faiths can advance, in order to promote mutual understanding and global peace.

During the meeting, members of the Higher Committee reviewed the project of the Abrahamic Family House to be set up on Saadiyat Island in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi, one of the first initiatives called for by the Humanitarian Brotherhood document, which will include a church, a mosque and a synagogue under one roof, forming for the first time a common community. It promotes the practice of exchanging dialogue and ideas among followers of religions, in order to promote the values ​​of peaceful coexistence and acceptance among different faiths, nationalities and cultures.

The special designs for this initiative, unveiled by the award-winning architect Sir David Ajay Obey, were unveiled at the meeting.

Members of the Higher Committee revealed their future plan to encourage the United Nations to adopt the "Human Brotherhood Document" for world peace and coexistence, which was drafted and signed by the sheikh of Al-Azhar and the Pope of the Catholic Church during the World Conference of Humanitarian Fraternity, hosted by the UAE in February. The past, and also the designation of an international day for the global celebration of this important initiative, in order to activate the dissemination of peaceful coexistence and human brotherhood among human beings of different affiliations and diversity.
