Houellebecq, often referred to as "enfant terrible" in French literature, achieved great success during the year with "Serotonin". In April, the controversial and best-selling author received the Honor Legion Award by President Emmanuel Macron.

The author's struggle with depression and alcoholism is often discussed through his novel characters, which many believe is the case also in "Serotonin".

“Houellebeqc's novel character is filled to the brim of longing, regret and hopelessness and he also describes the blackest moments with a cheerfulness that makes you not want to leave his company. However bad it may seem, "says Sven Ahlström," about the role of Florent-Claude Labrouste, according to a press release.

"Serotinin" receives the Scandinavian premiere on March 27, 2020.
