The head of the Hong Kong Executive Carrie Lam announced on Wednesday night that the controversial extradition bill to China will be permanently withdrawn, a major concession to pro-democracy protesters.
"The government will officially withdraw the bill in order to completely quell the concerns of the population," Lam said in a video broadcast by her services.
