The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (Aesan) has activated a health alert for an outbreak of food poisoning caused by botulinum toxin detected in canned tuna in sunflower oil of the DIA brand.
The outbreak has been detected after four people became ill , of which three have already been discharged, who ingested a homemade Russian salad made with the aforementioned tuna.
The product concerned is a canned tuna in sunflower oil RO 900 format, DIA brand, with lot 19/154 023 02587 made in Frinsa del Noroeste SA with preferential consumption date 12/31/2022.
The product was distributed by the DIA platform to establishments in the autonomous communities of Asturias, Castilla y León, Cataluña, Aragón, La Rioja, Murcia, Navarra, Castilla-La Mancha and Valencia, where the immobilization and withdrawal of the Affected products
