Norwegian police said on Tuesday they had arrested a man who stole an ambulance and reportedly shocked several people in the capital Oslo.

Oslo police said an armed suspect was arrested and shots were fired on the back of the arrest. Police said on Twitter that the suspect was not seriously injured.

It was not clear how many people were injured or the nature of their injuries, but the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation reported that the car had hit a stroller.

Police launched a major operation and set up a number of security hoops.
