UAE astronaut Hazza Al Mansouri said that he communicates with his family by private phone, pointing out that the International Space Station has many means of communication with the Earth, whether by email, telephone or live broadcast.

This came in response to a question on how to communicate with his family during his space flight, yesterday, in his third live broadcast from the International Space Station, since his arrival on Thursday.

"My children are proud to be an astronaut representing the UAE," Mansouri said. "I talk to them in my spare time, and most of their questions focus on the way I eat, sleep and my normal life."

He added: «My family is the first to encourage me to dream of being an astronaut, and the school supported my ambition», as the first to support him in his march towards space are his parents, and their constant emphasis on achieving his ambitions, and did not overlook the role of his school that encouraged him to achieve his dream, stressing the role of the leadership Which gives opportunities to the sons of the UAE, who in turn must exploit and prepare for it ».

He pointed out that he passed half of his stay on the International Space Station, during which he conducted several scientific experiments, the most important of which is the study of how fluids and liquids interact in a zero gravity environment, and how the body adapts to zero gravity conditions and their impact on cardiovascular functions, pointing out that the schedule is crowded In his spare time, he reads some of his favorite books, such as My Story by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Mansouri announced yesterday the names of the winners of the «Send to Space» contest, while he will announce in his next call the winners of the poetry competition.

On temperatures, he pointed out that the station is governed by a precise system that controls oxygen, humidity, carbon dioxide and temperature, which is about 22 degrees Celsius.

Al Mansouri explained the difference between conducting experiments on Earth and in the International Space Station. Zero gravity makes the results of experiments and tests more accurate and serves humanity in all fields.

Mansouri said the oxygen on board the International Space Station results from burning water that produces oxygen and hydrogen.

He noted that learning the Russian language is difficult, but possible when you have the insistence, and stressed that the crew learned some words in Arabic, such as peace be upon you and good morning.
