As clarified by the UN Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) on his Twitter page, he said this at a meeting with the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative for Libya Gassan Salyama.

It is reported that Haftar "confirmed the participation of the LNA in the negotiations of the five-by-five military commission, which is expected to begin soon in Geneva."

Earlier, the representative of the Libyan National Army, Brigadier General Khaled Mahjub, said that preparations for the first meeting of the Libyan military committee have not yet been completed.

On January 19, German Chancellor Angela Merkel announced the creation of a five-by-five military commission following a conference on a Libyan settlement.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov explained that the committee will include five representatives from Haftar and the head of the Libyan government of national consent, Faiz Sarraj, who will “engage in the development of concrete confidence-building measures that will make the cease-fire sustainable”.
