Six German policemen on horseback came to reinforce Thursday the French police force in Strasbourg, to supervise the supporters of the football game that opposes at 8:30 pm Strasbourg at Eintracht Frankfurt in the play-offs of Europa League, announced the French police.

"In the framework of international cooperation and for the first time in France, it was appealed to reinforcements of mounted police officers especially from #Frankfurt to supervise the supporters," said the national police of Bas-Rhin on his Twitter account, pictures of the six policemen on their mounts in support.

According to the prefecture of Bas-Rhin, several thousand supporters of Frankfurt are expected on this occasion in Strasbourg, while only 1,000 seats are reserved for visitors to the stadium of Meinau. Frankfurt is only 200 km from the Alsatian capital. The prefecture has issued a decree prohibiting "any person claiming the support of Eintracht Frankfurt or behaving as such (to) circulate or park near the stadium of Meinau".
Strasbourg, which has found the elite of French football just two years ago, hopes to create the surprise in the play-offs of the Europa League on Thursday against Eintracht Frankfurt, semi-finalist of the competition last spring.
