Earlier, the countries participating in the “Lima Group” announced the recognition of the head of the National Assembly of Venezuela, Juan Guaido, as interim president of the country.

Peru, Brazil and Colombia also recognized Guido’s acting president of Venezuela.

Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed support for Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

On January 23, Venezuelan Parliament Speaker Juan Guaido declared himself interim head of state. Washington urged Maduro to hand over power to him.
