The UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash said that the crisis with Qatar is still continuing, in the first Emirati official statement on the Gulf crisis after the Gulf Summit in Riyadh.
Gargash considered in his tweet on Twitter that each crisis has a conclusion, and that what he described as honest and sustainable solutions is in the interest of the region.
The Emirati minister added that the basis for the solution lies in addressing the roots of the crisis between Qatar and the four countries, he said.
Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Thani had announced earlier talks with Saudi Arabia on the Gulf crisis, noting that the conversation did not reveal the 13 impossible demands for the return of relations with Doha, and that the negotiations are moving away from them.
The Qatari minister said in statements during his speech at the recently held Mediterranean Dialogue Forum in the Italian capital, Rome: "There are discussions with the brothers in Saudi Arabia and we hope that they will produce positive results."
"We have gone from a dead end in the Gulf crisis to talking about a future vision regarding the relationship with Saudi Arabia," the Qatari minister added. This was in the first official statement from Doha on the developments of the Gulf reconciliation file.
Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman stressed that Qatar's internal affairs will not be negotiated with any party, adding, "We have our independent policy."
And reports talked during the past few weeks about a recent breakthrough for the Gulf crisis, after a comprehensive blockade was imposed on Qatar by Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain in addition to Egypt, since 2017 on the pretext of supporting terrorism, which Doha strongly denied, considering it an attempt to control its sovereign decision.
