The head of the French Association of Victims of Terrorism, Guillaume Dunois Dossan Marc, said that 80% of the victims of terrorism around the world are Muslims.

"Muslims are the first to taste the scourge of terrorism and it is very important to recall this in Europe," Anatolia quoted Dusan Marc as saying on the sidelines of the International Conference on Victims of Terrorism.

"Some believe that the perpetrators of the terrorist attacks are Muslims, and that the victims are non-Muslims, and this is not true."

He pointed to the call of many Muslim victims of terrorism to the conference to show that Muslims are also victims of terrorist attacks.

The International Conference on Victims of Terrorism kicked off on Thursday and lasts until Saturday, with 450 terrorism victims coming from 80 countries around the world.

The conference is scheduled to hold various sessions where victims of terrorism will speak.
