Caregivers can borrow free from Saturday TER and interurban buses in the Grand Est region, announced Friday the community, which wishes to facilitate their travel while Alsace pays a heavy price in the coronavirus epidemic. “At the request of Jean Rottner (the LR president of the region, Editor's note), and in agreement with the SNCF, the Grand Est region has decided to grant free access to all its transport networks (TER and interurban buses) for caregivers who devote themselves daily to help the patients of Covid-19 ", said a press release issued on Friday.
“As of (Saturday), caregivers (doctors, nurses, caregivers, paramedics, etc.) will be able to use all the train and bus lines of the Fluo network for free Grand Est ”, it is added.
No steps required
No action is required to benefit from this measure, caregivers can be satisfied with presenting a document justifying their function. This initiative "should facilitate the movement of caregivers, particularly tested since the beginning of the epidemic", whose department of Haut-Rhin is one of the main centers in France.
On Thursday, the Grand Est counted 1,169 hospitalized coronavirus patients, including 300 in intensive care, according to figures communicated by the Regional Health Agency (ARS).
The ARS counted 93 deaths in the region on Thursday since the start of the epidemic.
