"The Russian Hockey Federation has always advocated pure sport and has complied with all the IIHF and WADA anti-doping requirements," the organization said in a statement.

It is noted that WADA sanctions can still be challenged in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), and the decision to hold international hockey competitions in Russia will be made by the International Hockey Federation.

“In collaboration with the Olympic Committee of Russia, the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation and the International Hockey Federation of the FHR, it will defend the interests of“ pure ”athletes and the rights acquired to hold international sporting events in Russia,” the FHR text says.

On December 9, a decision was made at the WADA executive committee to remove Russia from international competitions for four years. Russia will also not be able to host international tournaments on its territory during this period.

Earlier it was reported that the Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix will be held in 2020, despite the WADA decision.
