- You must not injure the mistletoe. Nor can you make an impact on the tree so that the mistletoe in it is damaged, says Kristina Hanson at the county administrative board's nature conservation department.
According to the county administrative board, there are examples of where mistletoe was felled in pure ignorance, but also where one knew about it but only ignored that the species is protected.
- We have gone out with a lot of information and I think the public knows that the mistletoe is protected here. It is in Västmanland the mistletoe is really common otherwise it is extremely unusual. That's why we have extra responsibility to safeguard this in the county, says Kristina Hanson.
