The Formula 1 team Haas will retain in 2020 the duo of drivers formed by the French Romain Grosjean and Denmark's Kevin Magnussen, announced the US team in a statement Thursday, on the sidelines of the Singapore Grand Prix.
Haas makes the choice of continuity and "experience", in the words of the "main team" Guenther Steiner, rather than replacing Grosjean by the German Nico Hulkenberg, whose contract with Renault is coming to an end.
The 33-year-old Frenchman and eight full seasons in F1 since 2012 (plus seven GPs in 2009), and the 26-year-old Danish and five seasons in F1 since 2014, joined the team in 2016 (the year of his debut) and 2017 respectively.
Haas, closely linked to Ferrari, finished eighth builder (out of ten) in 2016 and 2017, with 29 points in the first year and 47 in the second.
In 2018, she was fifth with 93 units but is struggling this season because of an unpredictable and capricious car. At seven GPs of the championship outcome, the US team is ninth and penultimate with 26 points.
In the drivers standings, Magnussen is sixteenth with 18 and Grosjean 17th with eight points.
