Senegalese television has announced the death of the former president of the French Olympique Marseille Football Club, Babi Diouf, at the age of 68 after contracting the Corona virus.

Diouf had assumed the presidency of Marseille, during the period from 2005 to 2009, in view of Diouf's history. He started as a journalist during the eighties, and switched to the field of managing players ’business in the nineties, where he worked with stars such as Joseph Antoine Bell, Marcel Dossaye, Basile Polly, William Gallas, Samir Nasri, and Didier Drogba.

Senegalese television indicated that Diouf was preparing to return to France to receive treatment by a private equipped plane, but the disease was stronger than him to announce his death, and Senegalese entered a Dakar hospital in recent days and needed a respiratory system during his treatment.
