Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani discussed with Russian President Vladimir Putin issues related to security and stability in the Gulf region.

The two leaders discussed "the strategic cooperation relations between the two countries and the prospects of enhancing and developing them, in addition to the latest regional and international developments," the official Qatari news agency said.

Putin extended an invitation to the Emir of Qatar to attend the St. Petersburg Economic Forum 2020.
