Khamis bin Brik-Tunisia

After assuming ministerial responsibilities as the youngest minister in the most difficult period of government after the revolution in the Troika government that was led by the Renaissance movement in 2011, it was fate that the former Minister of Tourism and Finance, Elias al-Fakhfakh, be placed in power after President Qais Saeed mandated him to form the government.

The failure of his "bloc" party to win any seat in parliament, despite its staunch opposition to the previous regime or its defeat in the last presidential elections as a result of obtaining 0.4% of the vote, did not prevent him from choosing a president for the next government, which is the most prominent position in the country that flirt with the aspiration of politicians.

Last Saturday, the son of Sfax, the largest economically and commercially active city in the country, appeared to be happy during his meeting with the President of the Republic, Qais Saeed, at Carthage Palace within the framework of the consultations to choose the prime minister, and at that time he appeared elegant with his blue suit, carefully shaved beard and bright smile.

Interesting race
Fakhfakh, 48, who held the post of Minister of Tourism and then Minister of Finance during the Troika rule in 2011 as the youngest minister in the government (39 years), was able to gain the confidence of the Tunisian President in a thrilling race that gathered many party candidates, most of whom were finance ministers.

Al-Fakhfakh is the second prime minister to be appointed in three months after the legislative elections that took place last October, after Habib Jamali's failure to gain the confidence of Parliament on January 10, although he was supported by the winning election movement.

There was a state of anticipation among the Tunisian public Monday evening, as the zero hour approached the end of the constitutional deadline to announce the name of the new prime minister, at a time when leaks continued by calling the traps in a hurry to meet the president in the Carthage Palace, the high-end archaeological area.

After his candidacy for the position of prime minister for the first time in his career, the traps have hit the party and bloc rivals with a knockout, as he was supported by only two parties, the "Democratic Current" and "Long Live Tunisia", while his opponents enjoyed a wider political belt.

Month order
The traps will take over the formation of the government within a period not exceeding one month, starting from the 21st of this month, which is a non-renewable period according to Chapter 98 of the Constitution, provided that the formation of his government is presented to Parliament to gain confidence, or passage to dissolve Parliament and hold early elections.

Despite the weakness of his political belt and his lack of suggestion from Ennahda, the largest parliamentary force (54 seats), or the "Heart of Tunisia" party, the second largest bloc (38 seats), observers expect that the traps will face heavy negotiations to form a government, but it will end up with confidence given the rejection of many blocs. Re-elections.

Observers have differing opinions regarding assigning a person with a liberal economic tendency to lead the country, while some believe that the stage requires an economist who flips in state positions to resolve the tense economic and social situation, others believe that their liberal tendency increases the slide for the worse.

But the traitor, who is a good and well-spoken speaker of the language of numbers, has not missed an opportunity since himself withdrew the government from the Troika government at the end of 2013, which was one of its ministers, to confirm his support for the democratic transition and the continuation of his political activities in the eroding "bloc" party and put forward his alternative programs to fix the situation.

Support the Renaissance
The ambitious traps to the Authority for Change managed to obtain recommendations from the Ennahda Movement and the "Long live Tunisia" bloc in the previous parliament in order to run for the previous presidencies, using the eloquence of his statement and the merit of his diagnosis of the conditions to put forward a reform program to develop education, health and the economy.

Although a number of politicians suspend the failure of successive governments after the revolution to improve conditions over the constitution and the political system, he refuses to offer an amendment to the amended parliamentary political system or the revision of the constitution, considering that the problem lies in the failure to apply the constitution to complete its bodies.

After a dream that was not taken into account, the traps - the owner of the successful career on the international level - came in an open way to implement his previous promises, taking advantage of his experience as a former minister in the most difficult periods of government after the revolution, as well as the accumulations of his experience with many companies.

The trap has a dual scientific and administrative composition. He holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Insa School in Lyon, France, and a master’s degree in business administration from the French university of Essonne.

Al-Fakhakh began his career in France as director of a research and development project in a company specialized in manufacturing rubber in the field of automotive and aviation, as he was responsible for developing manufacturing operations in many of the group's factories and in some of its branches in the world, especially in Poland.

After returning to Tunisia in 2006, Al-Fakhakh took the position of General Manager for a company specialized in the manufacture of auto components, and then became Director General of another organization in the same field. After the revolution, he became involved in political life, joining the "bloc" party, led his election campaign, and succeeded in winning the third seat in the Constituent Assembly elections.
