DP World - UAE Region, the leading trade catalyst, and Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) showcased Dubai's capabilities and offerings to support and facilitate Indian food and beverage exports during the FoodPro Exhibition and Conference organized by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) In Chennai.

The DP World team has allowed food and beverage companies looking to expand their business beyond India to identify strategic solutions offered, including plug-and-play platforms, integrated supply chain solutions, value-added services and an investment platform.

Over the past decades, Dubai has developed an integrated trading environment that provides a robust infrastructure for international companies, as well as transparent systems that support business success. With its strategic location and excellent multimedia connectivity network, Dubai is taking Indian exports to new heights.

Trade between India and the United Arab Emirates has been strengthened, with bilateral trade exceeding $ 60 billion (AED 220.8 billion) in 2018, with further growth expected.

India is now the second largest trading partner of the UAE, after China. In support of this activity, Jebel Ali Port and Jafza provide a multi-media center for trade, logistics and industry, which will serve as India's gateway to the world by facilitating food and beverage exports and opening new markets for Indian traders.

The port is complemented by Jafza's specialized food and beverage facilities, covering more than 1.2 million square meters, attracting 467 companies from 66 countries and employing more than 5,880 people. Mohammed Al Moallem, CEO and Managing Director of DP World - UAE Region and CEO of Jafza, said:

“Our goal is to reach out to Indian companies looking for new markets, especially in the food and beverage sector. The Indian-UAE bridge and the cooperation between DP World - UAE Region, India and the ports and logistics capabilities of both countries will enable us to provide integrated, unique and comprehensive supply chain solutions to companies. ”
