She told «Emirates Today» that it did not oblige restaurants and hotels operating in Dubai to provide tap water filtered to consumers, noting that «this information is incorrect».
She said that the most important updates to be introduced to the food safety system for drinking water safety for factories and restaurants in Dubai, the maintenance of tanks and pipes periodically, at least twice per year and when needed, and that the cleaning of tanks and pipes by a company approved by the municipality, and the inspection of water according to water standards Drinking, through accredited laboratories of the Emirates International Accreditation Center.
The food safety system, issued by the municipality, provides for safe drinking water from an approved source by the municipality or DEWA for cleaning and food preparation purposes, and to provide an adequate supply of hot water to the maximum extent possible for all cleaning activities in the food establishment.
