Syrian regime warplanes launched intensive raids targeting popular markets in the cities of Saraqeb and Maaret al-Nu'man in Idlib countryside; killing and injuring dozens, while Russian planes launched other raids on the central prison of Idlib.

The raids resulted in the death of about twenty civilians and wounding dozens, and Syrian regime helicopters dropped explosive barrels on the cities and towns of Kafranbel, Hass and Kfrouma in Idlib countryside, causing extensive destruction.

Three other civilians were also killed in air strikes by Syrian and Russian warplanes in different areas in southern Idlib. A woman and her two children were killed in a Russian bombing targeting Idlib Central Prison while visiting a relative.

According to the Aviation Observatory of the opposition that Russian warplanes raided the city of Idlib on Monday, and the villages of Kafr Sinja and Haraki, located south of the province.

The same source pointed to the killing of two civilians in other raids carried out by regime fighter jets on the villages of Sorman and Knais in the province on Monday evening, and civil defense crews continue rescue operations in the region.

Clashes have erupted in Idlib province since Saturday on several fronts.
