Donald Trump fires John Bolton, his National Security Advisor

Donald Trump fired Tuesday, September 10, John Bolton, who until then held the very influential position of adviser to National Security.

I informed John Bolton last night at the White House. I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore ....

"I informed John Bolton last night that we no longer needed his services at the White House," tweeted Donald Trump. "I disagreed with many of his suggestions," he added, referring to the well-known lawyer for his mustache and his tough stance on Iran, Russia, and North Korea.

In a terse and enigmatic tweet, John Bolton simply indicated that he had offered to resign Monday night and that the president had said "Let's talk about it tomorrow".

This spectacular dismissal comes in a particularly tense climate between the United States and Iran, a case on which Donald Trump has sent contradictory signals in recent weeks, between extreme firmness and willingness to negotiate.
