Novak Djokovic once again proved to be a stumbling block for Roger Federer after he rebuffed all attempts by the Swiss to win his fifth title at Wimbledon in the first final to be decided by the All England League break.

The defending champions were not the best side at times in the main court but saved two chances to win the match in the crucial group and extracted from their psychological and physical inventory to win 7-6, 1-6, 7-6, 4-6 and 13-12.

Djokovic's line of attention after the match was settled. After Federer's handshake and the refereeing of the standoff, he found no way to celebrate the historic title but took a few grasses in a shot in which he wanted to win the championship.
