The French laboratories Boiron and Lehning, specialists in homeopathic medicines, announced Wednesday that they have filed two appeals to the State Council asking it to cancel the decrees relating to the cessation of reimbursement of homeopathy by 2021.
"These appeals relate to both the irregularities that tainted the procedure of evaluation of homeopathy by the Transparency Commission of the High Authority of Health and the merits of these decrees" dated August 30 said the laboratories in a joint statement Wednesday.
A priority issue of constitutionality (QPC) will also be presented "in order to question the law that has delegated to a single minister the decision on the management of homeopathic medicines," the statement added.
The government announced in early July that homeopathy would only be reimbursed at 15% on January 1, 2020, against 30% currently, and that this rate would drop to zero on January 1, 2021.
He had thus aligned himself with the opinion of the High Authority of Health which had concluded to the lack of proven effectiveness of these pharmaceutical products.
Last year, homeopathy accounted for 126.8 million euros out of about 20 billion for all drugs reimbursed, according to the Health Insurance.
