In Sanmu City, Chiba Prefecture, where blackouts continued due to damage from Typhoon No. 15, liquid milk that did not need to be melted with hot water stocked for disasters was distributed and received by mothers raising children.

Liquid milk for babies, which was popular in Europe and the United States, can be manufactured and sold in Japan since last year, and Sanmu City has been stockpiling for disasters since March.

According to the city, the stockpile is 460 packs, and the typhoon hit Chiba Prefecture and started distributing it to applicants from 9th of this month, and distributed about 350 to about 50 people by 11th.

On the 12th, a handout was given to mothers and children held at Naruto Health and Welfare Center in the city, and some mothers received them together.

Haruka Takahashi, a mother who had received milk before, said, “I was very worried because the electricity and water at my home stopped because I had a three-month-old child. "It was convenient and helpful when I actually used it."

Miyoko Shimizu from the Sanmu City Health Support Division said, “It was just an introduction, but it was actually used. I realized that daily preparation is important.”
