THREE-STEP WOMEN: Jamaican Shanieka Ricketts set a personal record with 14.93 in the final round and took home the victory ahead of favorite Yilamr Rojas of Venezuela who reached 14.74.
- I knew I had the chance before the last round and I had to take that chance. This is my first win in a Diamond League competition and being able to do it with a personal record makes me so happy, Ricketts tells the organizer.
400M WOMEN: The favorite Eid Salwa Naser from Bahrain, unbeaten this year, was superior and won at 50.24 and defended the title, almost the second before second American Shakima Wimbley in a weak starting field to be a DL final.
Men's 800 M: Favorite Nijel Amos made a comeback after the severe thigh injury and even looked to challenge the world record with 1.14.43 at 600 meters (48.3 at 400 m). Then Amos started to heel and the last 50 meters he barely stepped. American Donavan Brazier took advantage of the situation and expressed in goals as the winner on the personal record 1.42.70. Noteworthy is that the second Amos got as good a time as 1.42.98.
