Kevin Mayer faces the javelin thrower, a dreamy women's 200m and a super-fast men's 1,500m time to spice up Monaco's prestigious Diamond League meeting on Friday.

- Javelin men: Mayer face the best -

The French world record holder of the decathlon Kevin Mayer has the habit of "pecking" at the specialists of each discipline (the record with Melina Robert-Michon, the hurdles against Pascal Martinot-Lagarde and Wilhem Belocian in training in the spring ).

It will be Friday very far from the Germans Thomas Röhler (Olympic champion) and Andreas Hofmann (vice-champion of Europe), or the Estonian Magnus Kirt, the only one to have thrown to more than 90 m this year (90,61 m ). But with their contact and without having played eight events previously as in the decathlon, Mayer could improve widely his personal record (71,90 m).

The best sprint stage of the evening brings together the last full world podium (Dutch Dafne Schippers, Ivory Coast's Marie-Josée Ta Lou, Shaunae Miller-Uibo from Bahamas), Jamaican Olympic champion Elaine Thompson, back in the first plan, as well as the current sprinter, Nigeria's Blessing Okagbare, winner in Stanford, California on June 30 (22.05).

The race promises to be explosive and could look like the final of the Doha Worlds (September 27-October 6), apart from the absences of Britain's Dina Asher-Smith and Jamaican Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce.

- 1.500 m men: watch the clock -

Seven times over the last ten years, Monaco has hosted at the Louis II stadium the 1,500 m the fastest of the season.

2019 should not derogate from the rule, especially as Kenyan Timothy Cheruiyot is in great shape, as evidenced by his victory in Lausanne (Switzerland) last Friday (3: 28.77).

The Norwegian prodigy Jakob Ingebrigtsen (18), who broke his personal best in Lausanne (3: 30.16), could become the second junior in history only to run in less than 3:30.
