The measure is a response to looting and clashes that followed major protests against President Iván Duque and his government.
Duque had said before the demonstrations that violence would not be tolerated.
In Bogotá, masked protesters threw stones at police responding with tear gas, and in several cities, military called in for the protests, which began Thursday.
