March 22, 2020 An earthquake of magnitude 5.3 was recorded at 5:24 local time (6:24 in Italy) in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia.

According to the data of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (Ingv) and the US geological service Usgs, the earthquake had a center at about 10 km deep and an epicenter in Kasina, a settlement in the north-east of the city of Zagreb. The shock was also clearly felt in some parts of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The earthquake that hit Zagreb this morning has caused huge damages in the city: this is what emerges from the photos and videos published online in these hours by the local media.

The images show severely damaged buildings, self-destroyed by the rubble of the buildings and streets covered with rubble. The Vecernji newspaper also talks about damage to the Rebro hospital. Many residents took to the streets. For now there is no news of injured or victims.

The shock was also felt clearly in Pesaro. Many people who were sleeping woke up. There is no damage.
