April 08, 2020 A premature newborn who tested positive for coronavirus has recovered. It happened at the Santa Croce and Carle hospital in Cuneo.

"A premature baby tested positive for coronavirus. She was treated in the Tin (Neonatal Intensive Care) of our Santa Croce and Carle Hospital and, today, she was declared cured", reads on the hospital's Facebook profile which also posts a video with "the little girl's foot moving, for the first time, after 48 hours in which she was unconscious".

"This is the first case of its kind. The newborn presented a clinical picture so serious that it had to be intubated - explains Tin's head, Andrea Sannia -. The little girl, after 3 weeks, recovered with great satisfaction from all the staff, especially nursing, who, with scrupulous attention, managed night and day, a difficult quarantine ".
