17 people infected in Germany

The man was hospitalized in solitary confinement, the ministry of social affairs in the southwestern region of Germany said. "The person fell ill with flu-like symptoms after returning home and then contacted the local health authorities," the ministry said in a statement. This new case brings the number of people infected in Germany to 17. The rest of the infected are treated in Bavaria (south) and Hesse (west).

The regional health services "are currently identifying the people in contact with the patient", who will be "isolated at home" and consulted every day.
