Jordan announced sending a plane to evacuate its citizens from the Chinese city of Wuhan due to the Corona virus. Media reported that tomorrow, Sunday, the United States will evacuate 90 of its citizens, while Chinese President Xi Jinping admitted that his country is facing a serious challenge due to the rapid spread of the new virus.

"Life is of the utmost importance," he said. "When the disease breaks out, it is our responsibility to prevent and control it."

He pointed out that the ruling Communist Party takes dealing with this virus very seriously and coordinates efforts from within its political bureau, which met on Saturday.

China Central Television quoted the government as saying that the total number of new cases of the Coruna virus reached 1372 cases inside the country, and that 41 people died of the virus as of 6:00 pm local time (10 am GMT) Saturday.

The government has decided to suspend scheduled flights to and from China, and as of Monday, Chinese travel agencies will not be able to sell hotel reservations and arrange organized flights.

In Jordan, an official source announced that the government obtained the approval of the Chinese authorities to evacuate its citizens residing in the Chinese city of Wuhan "as soon as possible."

"With the guidance of King Abdullah II, an aircraft will be dispatched to evacuate the Jordanian citizens in Wuhan, China, as soon as possible, as the relevant government agencies have begun arranging the procedures for that," the official Jordanian News Agency (Petra) said.

The agency added that "the government obtained the approval of the Chinese authorities to evacuate the city, which was imposed a quarantine," noting that "the Kingdom's embassy in Beijing is communicating with the Chinese authorities and Jordanian citizens to complete the evacuation as soon as possible."

The "Bloomberg" news agency said that, on Sunday, a "Boeing 767" plane will transport 90 people from the Chinese city of Wuhan to the United States.

The agency noted that the trip will also include American diplomats working for the US consulate Bohan.

The US embassy had announced earlier the temporary closure of the consulate in Wuhan, and the departure of its members and their families after the spread of the Corona virus.

France plans to move its nationals and their relatives from the Chinese province of Wuhan, and the Chinese newspaper "China China Morning Post" said Saturday that the French Consulate General intends to establish a bus service for this purpose, in cooperation with the Chinese authorities.

According to the newspaper, "the French, their spouses and foreign children" are expected to be transferred from Wuhan to Changsha, in the neighboring Hunan Province.

The agency quoted the press attache at the embassy as saying that there were no infections among Russian citizens with the new Corona virus.

Hong Kong Chief Executive Carry Lam announced today the state of emergency due to the new Coruna virus, and took a series of measures to reduce communication between the city and the Chinese mainland to prevent the spread of the virus.

Hong Kong health authorities have confirmed five cases of the virus, all related to Wuhan, while 122 others are receiving treatment on suspicion of contracting the disease.

Lam said that all official visits to the mainland will be canceled, as well as official celebrations of the Lunar New Year immediately. However, she rejected calls to ban all arrivals from the mainland temporarily, and said that closing all border crossings with the mainland was impractical.
