Al-Jazeera correspondent confirmed the injury of civilians, including children, due to targeting Mitiga International Airport in the Libyan capital Tripoli with a number of Grad missiles, in conjunction with the landing of a plane coming from Saudi Arabia carrying Libyan pilgrims.

The correspondent quoted sources that the bombing targeted the airport terminal Mitiga directly, and also resulted in material damage.

The Government of National Accord suspended air traffic at the airport following the targeting.

The Center for Field Medicine and Support of the Government of Al-Wefaq announced on Saturday that a citizen was injured by the bombing of retired Major General Khalifa Hifter airport Mitiga.

The airport also announced that the bombing caused a halt to air traffic for about three hours before resuming, adding that he was hit by a shell "in conjunction with the arrival of two flights."
