The expert group was established by the China National Health Commission and selected by the Sichuan Provincial Health Commission. A total of 12 people were from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Sichuan Center for Disease Control, Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University, and Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospitals, specializing in areas such as respiration, severe illness, hospital sense, public health, nursing, traditional Chinese medicine, etc.

The expert team was led by Vice President Zeng Yong of West China Hospital of Sichuan University. Zeng Yong said that the epidemic has no borders. After arriving in Ethiopia, the medical team will seize the time to understand the epidemic and exchange anti-epidemic experience with local counterparts to promote cooperation in the medical and health fields.

As the only Chinese medicine expert in the expert group, Jin Wei, deputy director of the emergency department of the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, introduced the expert group in advance Sichuan's "Xinguan No.1, No.2, No.3" traditional Chinese medicine preparation with significant clinical observation effect will be packaged and checked. If the Ethiopian patient's condition is suitable for the Sichuan program, the preparation will be used.
