The Chinese embassy writes in a press release that the drawing has crossed the ethical boundary of freedom of expression and that they demand a public apology from the Jutland Post and the artist who made the drawing. They also write that the drawing is "an insult to China" and that it harms "the Chinese feelings."
The reason for the embarrassment is that the image's cartoonist Niels Bo Bojeson has replaced the five yellow stars with illustrations of the corona virus in his drawing.
The Jutland Post editor-in-chief Jacob Nybroe has told Danish TV2 that the intention was not to mock or ridicule China.
