"The Tariffs and Duties Committee decided to increase import duties by 5,078 commodity items from the United States with a total volume of $ 75 billion by 10% and 5%," the agency said in a statement to TASS.

The new duties will take effect at midnight Beijing time on September 1 and December 15.

Earlier in China, the United States warned of the development of countermeasures in response to Washington's new duties.

US President Donald Trump announced the introduction of September 10 duties on 10% on goods from China in the amount of $ 300 billion.

Later, the United States postponed the introduction of duties until December 15.

In May, expert Dmitry Rodionov, in an interview with the FAN, noted that the Washington-Beijing trade talks ended in nothing and led to a new round of trade war.
