This is one of the shocks of the round of 16. Mali will challenge Côte d'Ivoire at Suez Stadium for a quarter-final place. This is to follow live this Monday, July 8 on RFI.fr from 16h UTC.

Mali qualified brilliantly for the round of 16 by finishing first in Group E where they conceded a draw against Tunisia. Malians are therefore in full confidence to challenge Côte d'Ivoire , one of the heavyweights of the African continent. The Elephants finished second in Group D behind Morocco, a team they lost 1-0 to. But since Morocco has been out by Benin, the men of Ibrahim Kamara are well placed to know that it is another competition that begins after the group stage. The winner of the match will face Algeria in the quarterfinals.
