The Ministry of Economy announced yesterday the start of two car recall campaigns, including 2598 Mazda cars and a Fuso truck, to repair manufacturing defects.

The ministry said in a report that the first recall campaign includes 2,442 Mazda 3 vehicles manufactured between 2015 and 2017, in cooperation with Galadari Automobiles Limited, the exclusive dealer of Mazda cars in the UAE.

The report explained that the recall is due to the fact that, after contacting the company «Mazda Motor Corporation», it was found that the windscreen wipers may become inoperable due to a defect in the power valves, which may lead to power cuts from the wiper engine, due to the formation of mineral deposits due to The heat produced during normal operation, and therefore drivers may experience reduced or poor visibility while driving, due to space breakdown.

The front control unit will be replaced with another modified unit that uses a new modified power valve design for the spaces, the report said, adding that no accidents or injuries related to this defect have been reported so far. She added that Galadari has already started contacting customers who own the cars to inform them about the future steps in compliance with the quality standards of after-sales services. Galadari also asked customers to contact the Customer Service Center to coordinate the repair dates.

In addition, the Ministry of Economy announced the start of a recall campaign involving 156 Fuso FA and FI trucks, manufactured between January 2015 and December 2018, in cooperation with Al Habtoor Motors Limited, the official dealer of Fuso trucks and buses in the country.

The ministry said that the recall is due to a malfunction in one of the valves may lead to a malfunction of the engine, pointing out that «Al Habtoor» began to contact all customers of the affected cars about the dates of repairing the damaged cars.

The first campaign includes Mazda 3 manufactured between 2015 and 2017.
