In Brazil, a gang leader tried to escape from Gericino prison, west of Rio de Janeiro, pretending to be his own daughter. But at the time of passing the controls, the detainee's nervousness was such that he was spotted by the prison officers.
The strategy was, to say the least, original: to escape the prison in which he is serving a 73-year sentence, Clauvino da Silva disguised himself. A pair of jeans, a bra under a tight t-shirt, a silicone mask that feminized her features and to top it off, a wig with long black hair and a pair of glasses.
Thus dressed, the former gang leader, convicted by the courts of drug and firearms trafficking, wanted to pretend to be his own daughter.
Aged 19, she had visited him precisely this weekend. And according to the Brazilian press, Clauvino da Silva apparently planned to recover the identity papers that his daughter had to leave at the entrance to the prison.
After the failed escape, prison officials broadcast a video of the detainee removing his disguise. The effect is amazing. Clauvino da Silva was placed in solitary confinement for about ten days. His daughter was charged with "flagrant facilitation of escape". She faces up to two years in prison.
