MADRID (Reuters) - Frenchman Ottoman Dembele will be out of action for five weeks after suffering a torn muscle in his left thigh, Barcelona said on Monday.
Barcelona said in a statement: "The tests carried out by the player, who played for 90 minutes against Athletic Bilbao, confirmed that he is suffering from a rupture in the left thigh, the approximate absence period is five weeks."
Dembele, who played in Barcelona's first La Liga match of the season, lost 1-0 to Athletic Bilbao, comes at a critical time for the Catalan club, due to recent injuries, most notably Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
