Neymar, who has played very little football in 2019, is the missing out of the list of 30 finalists at the Ballon d'Or, the most prestigious individual football trophy, according to the results released Monday by France Football.
The Brazilian has been consistently in the final ranking of the Ballon d'Or since 2011, while still playing in Santos in Brazil. Since then, Neymar has notably obtained two third places, when he wore the jersey of Barcelona (2015) then that of Paris SG (2017).
The Brazilian undoubtedly pays two very difficult years since joining the Paris club in the summer of 2017, when two serious injuries kept him away from the field for many months.
Last year already, Neymar had finished only in 12th place in this ranking established by the vote of international journalists. In 2019, Neymar did not participate in any Champions League match with his club, and only played in 12 games in all competitions: 10 L1 matches, 1 League Cup match and 1 match. Coupe de France, the final lost against Rennes after which he gave a small slap to a Breton supporter.
