The Attorney General of the State, Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, confirmed that, based on the recent monitoring in some social media sites, the publication of videos and pictures of the arrest of crimes, some of which show the victims and accused persons, which is contrary to the constitutional and legal system in the country, It constitutes multiple crimes against its photographers and publishers.
Whereas the videos and photos that have been monitored include what offends the persons who appear in them, even if they are accused of committing crimes, before they are found guilty, and what may harm the higher interests of the State, and affect the public order therein, and may have an impact on the investigation of such crimes.
Therefore, the Public Prosecutor calls upon all persons who view or depict such material in virtue of his work, or to report a crime, not to publish or circulate it by any means except with legal permission, pursuant to the obligations of the public interest, and in order not to be held accountable by law.
