September 14, 2019Attachments with drones caused fires in two large oil plants managed by Aramco in Saudi Arabia. State media have announced it.

The images showed flames and large columns of smoke above Abqaiq, which has the most important crude processing plant in the world. A second drone attack triggered fires in the Khurais oil field further west.

The fires are now under control in both facilities, state media reported. There would be no injuries.

The attacks have not yet been claimed. In the past, however, the Yemeni Houthi rebels launched drone attacks within the territory of Saudi Arabia, which for years has led a military coalition at war with separatist militants.
