According to Interfax, the association sent a letter to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin asking it to consider the possibility of compensating for actual direct losses on outbound and inbound tourism.

According to ATOR, tour operators in the field of outbound tourism as a result of emergency export of tourists and early termination of programs in China lost 450 million rubles.

At the same time, losses on inbound tourism amounted to 140 million rubles. These funds were directed to programs for Chinese tourists for the winter, spring and summer of 2020, but were canceled due to the coronavirus.

Since February 20, Russia has suspended the entry of Chinese citizens.

Executive Director of the Association of Russian Tour Operators Maya Lomidze in an interview with the FAN commented on the situation with the cancellation of tours to China.
