The Cameroonian Navy announced Thursday that Asian and European seafarers have been kidnapped off Douala in the south of the country.

Asian and European sailors were kidnapped in their ship Thursday off Douala in southern Cameroon, in the Gulf of Guinea, a Cameroonian navy official said. "Asian and European sailors were kidnapped this (Thursday) morning" off Douala, the economic capital of Cameroon, said the official on condition of anonymity. He did not specify the number or nationality of the kidnapped sailors.
