For several hours, the Defense Mall was invaded by anti-Black Friday activists, preventing some customers from shopping. A punch action that marks the distrust of some of the French towards this movement of promotion.

REPORTAGE

Hard to miss Black Friday this year. This day of super promotions broke new records on Friday. But she did not just make happy. The "anti" Black Friday have mobilized throughout France. They aimed in particular at a high place of consumption: the commercial center of Defense. Europe's largest trade site was disrupted for several hours. Consumers were prevented from shopping, some traders were even pushed to close their stores.

"Symbol of ultra capitalism"

"The purpose of the action was not to make people feel guilty," said Lola, a member of the collective Extermination Rebellion. Like the young woman, the activists especially wanted to mark the spirits. "This action denounces Black Friday, a symbol of ultra-capitalism and this overconsumption that destroys the planet and all its resources." But among these opponents, there are not only anti-globalization activists. Companies are also growing in number.

There are more than 400 who boycotted Black Friday this year, when they were only a handful two years ago, like the French Brief, who joined the movement. "Such discounts, it means that we do not respect the environmental standards of products that are manufactured," denounces Guillaume Gibault, its founder. "There is a real question of the fair price of things," he said. A position assumed against customers who do not always understand why the brand does not offer them the promotions of Black Friday.
