The Paris prosecution announced Friday the opening of an investigation into rape of minors against French author Gabriel Matzneff, accused of pedophilia. The affair shakes the French literary milieu.

Thirty years after the facts, the justice seizes the Matzneff case. Friday, January 3, the Paris prosecutor's office opened an investigation against the French writer. Gabriel Matzneff, now 83, is implicated for his relationships with adolescent girls.

Man has never made a secret of his relationships with young teenage girls. But for two weeks, it has been at the heart of a controversy triggered by the publication, Thursday, January 2, of the autobiographical novel by the editor Vanessa Springora . "Consent" describes him as a pedophile predator.

This investigation was opened for " rape committed against a minor " under the age of 15 and entrusted to the Central Office for the Suppression of Violence against Persons (OCRVP), announced the public prosecutor of Paris, Rémy Heitz.

" Beyond the facts described by Vanessa Springora in her book, the investigations (...) will endeavor to identify all other possible victims who may have suffered offenses of the same nature on national territory or abroad ", specifies the press release.
