Slovakia's Petra Vlhova won the Alpine Ski World Cup night slalom in Flachau (Austria) on Tuesday, her second consecutive victory, while her great American rival Mikaela Shiffrin finished only third.

After winning in Zagreb (Croatia) on January 4 in front of Shiffrin, Petra Vlhova continued with a second consecutive success in slalom, her favorite discipline, just ahead of the Swedish Anna Swenn Larsson (at 10 hundredths).

Mikaela Shiffrin, 2nd in the first run behind Petra Vlhova, failed to catch up and finished 3rd at 43 hundredths.

Mikaela Shiffrin, triple defending champion, remains largely at the head of the general classification as well as the classification of the slalom globe, in front of Petra Vlhova.
